It is with deep regret and bitter sorrow that we must report the passing of Mike Junkin of the Retro Rockers. Mike was fatally injured in an automobile accident Thursday, June 13, 2002. Mike was a founding member of the band and his contribution to the spirit of our music was without measure. Mike began playing piano at a young age and soon thereafter learned guitar. He played in bands beginning in 1964 at the age of 11 and continued to play the music he loved until his death. Fellow Retro Rocker Clifford Muir played alongside Mike in many of those bands and over the years developed a musical relationship that only comes with friendship and time. Mike enjoyed many activities, but music was his first love. His music and his life touched us all, and he will live in our hearts forever.
